Midnight Watch ‑ April
6, 1994
An army doesn't send it's warriors out to do battle in
other lands while it's own city is under siege.
When will we fight for and defend our own? It's the only way we can ever be effective in
anything ‑ first we must conquer our enemies, rebuild our walls and heal and save those of our flock.
Just when the time for harvest comes, the enemy's tactic
is to divert us with other things ‑ if he can't choke the harvest, he
knows he is finished. Having tried to
steal the seed and failed, then trying to uproot the shallow plant before it
can hold fast and failed, he now must choke the harvest to succeed ‑
divert us away from the goal ‑ entice us to do other labors and leave our
own harvest field to rot. This is what
is happening and we must get back to our focus ‑ our outreaches at this
point will not succeed because our own Body is weak, sick and diseased ‑
we must rebuild, we must be strengthened, we must receive power and anointing;
then the other outreaches will come as a natural result of Christ being formed
in us.
Get back to the battle we were called to fight and finish
it ‑ everything else, no matter how noble, is just a distraction
meant to bring destruction and death.
God is ready to do a NEW thing but we must perceive
and give heed to it. We must plead the
case for His forgiving us and moving us forward ‑ we must put Him in
remembrance of our cause ‑ we must receive the new outpouring of
His Spirit ‑ we must move from the condition of Isaiah 42:18‑25 to
the action of Isaiah 43:18‑26 and promises of Isaiah 44:1‑5. We must deal with our sins and our case. That is the only way.
"Who will give heed for the time to come?", says
the Lord. Though set on fire and burned
they do not know the reason why ‑ that it is Me wanting them to repent.
Repent therefore and be ye saved. Do not reject the call of the Lord. We must go back and do the things He first called
us to do and finish it! This is the cry
of the Holy Ghost and the burden of the Lord.
Hebrews 12:1,2 ‑ We must run our particular
race, looking away from all that distracts. We cannot run others' races ‑ only our
own ‑ then we will receive enough for our needs and theirs ‑ we can
then return and help them cross after we have crossed. |
