Well, another month has passed but little has changed here. Cora’s physical ailments have become very serious while Jenny and I are trying to help when we can but feeling very inadequate. We are hoping and praying for a much needed change in the very near future. Somehow the Lord has kept us going and we are doing our best to hold on to the truth that God’s plan for us is good and that we have a future and a hope. (Jer. 29;11) But believe me, often we feel like we’re stumbling and falling. And more and more often Cora feels like she physically cannot go on. Only God can enable us to finish this race victoriously.

This morning I read Psalm 35 to Cora and it seemed to fit our situation so well. Throughout the psalm David keeps telling the Lord how he is being attacked by enemies and asking God to rise up and destroy them without delay. After David cries out for help in the first few verses, he then tells the Lord how he will praise Him when that deliverance comes. Believe me, we can sure relate to that! We have dreamt of and talked about that moment so many times. O Lord, please come quickly!

But there is one verse in Psalm 35 that I especially wanted to share with you this month. “But give great joy to those who have stood with me in my defense. Let them continually say, ‘Great is the Lord, who enjoys helping his servant.’” (verse 27, New Living Translation) Surely that is our prayer from the bottom of our hearts for you. We sincerely hope and pray that everyone who has stood with us over the years will reap a great harvest of joy and praise to the Lord for what He will do as a result of all their prayers.

Once again, thank you for your encouragement and prayerful support. We love you and hope to be the bearers of good news real soon. Shalom.
