Just a short letter to let you know that God has greatly helped us in answer to your prayers. He has comforted and reassured us that He is leading us to a deeper place of rest in Him. I have so much to share about all this but it is too soon to try to put it into words.

Thank you for notes and calls of encouragement which meant so much to us all. I wish I could answer them all personally but I am still very weak. I hope through this letter, you'll know that your ministry to us was sweet, effective and well timed and that we appreciate all you have done whether you wrote or not.

A few weeks ago, a dear Wycliffe friend visited and told us an amazing story of a small tribe which had received God's Word apparently without effect after at least 20 years of much prayer. He reported that just recently, the Holy Spirit fell in the night giving all the men similar dreams and visions of God resulting in the conversion of almost the entire tribe in a single day! Our friend said he was immediately reminded of the bowls of incense described in Revelation 5:8 which are the prayers of the saints to be poured out on the earth. In the spirit he saw it was just one little prayer that tipped the bowl causing it to overflow onto the earth for that tribe. What an awesome encouragement for us when answers are long in coming. What a fresh excitement this brings to weary prayers. Perhaps today, your single prayer will spill the storehouse of Heaven into some impossible situation! PTL!

I want to close with this little poem which explains much of what happened to us this month. May it bless and stir your hearts as it did ours.

The Power of Prayer

The day was long, the burden I had borne
Seemed heavier than I could longer bear,
And then it lifted but I did not know
Some one had knelt in prayer;
Had taken me to God that very hour,
And asked the easing of the load, and He,
In infinite compassion, had stooped down
And taken it from me.

We cannot tell how often as we pray
For some bewildered one, hurt and distressed,
The answer comes, but many times those hearts
Find sudden peace and rest.
Some one had prayed, and Faith, a reaching hand,
Took hold of God, and brought Him down that day!
So many, many hearts have need of prayer:

Oh, let us pray!

We love you and thank you again. Can you believe I actually wrote a short letter? (Maybe that's an answer to your prayer!)
