Thank you for joining with our church in special prayer for Cora's healing last week. We wanted to send you an update of what we have seen happen so you can continue to pray knowledgeably. We know the Lord is working in ways we cannot see and trust this work will be completed at His appointed hour.
From our perspective here is where we currently are:
(1) Cora's spiritual vision has been renewed. She has been strengthened emotionally and spiritually but is still very fragile.
(2) There has been no improvement physically so please keep praying.
(3) Much prayer was generated from unexpected places, a further fulfillment of 2 Cor. 1:9 11.
(4) The Lord has led two women to fly here from San Jose the Friday after Thanksgiving to pray for healing. They arrive late afternoon and will stay all day Saturday. We will probably have a home prayer meeting to seek the Lord's direction Friday night and then pray with Cora Saturday morning. One of the women (Bobbie) was told by the Lord in 1981 that "He would raise Cora up as she lay there grievously ill" but she didn't know what that meant until the end of last year when she got our Christmas letter with a picture of Cora in bed. Please be praying for them as they come here expecting to see great things!
We are very thankful for what God is doing and for what He is going to do. Besides the prayer request in (4) above we would ask prayer for:
(1) Cora balancing her hopes for healing versus her fears of being disappointed another time. The disappointments get harder to handle as she gets weaker but we want to move forward in faith. We know that God alone can meet our needs.
(2) Protection for our extended family. My Mom (Berta Frederick) broke her hip in August and was recovering fine but woke up Sunday morning with a refracture. They were going to operate on Monday but she had a reaction to the plasma they were giving her and almost died. God miraculously touched her and she was operated on yesterday (Wednesday) and came through it nicely. But this just showed us the need for protection for all our family at this time.
The Lord has also sent us an excellent book which encourages us to hold on as we go through these hard times. It is called The Fire Of Delayed Answers by Bob Sorge. This is really excellent reading for anyone going through difficult times.
We look forward to sending you a great praise report real soon. We are coming through because of your prayers. We greatly appreciate your sacrificial investment in our lives at this time. May the Lord bless you richly for your faithfulness.
