Just wanted to drop you a quick note this month to express our gratitude for your continued prayers for us at this time and bring you up to date on what is happening with us. I also wanted to get this letter out early in March to ask a special favor of you. March 12th is Cora’s father’s 90th birthday and we know he would be very blessed to receive lots of cards. He has been in a nursing home for quite a few years and gets very lonesome. He is confined to a wheelchair but is still mentally very alert. He has always been interested in sports, especially tennis and bowling. As you may know, he is Jewish and has never accepted Christ as his Savior. But please feel free to correspond with him in any way the Lord leads you. I’ve enclosed a label to make it easier for you to send a card, but in case it gets lost his address is: Herman Lazarus Now for the Fredericks. Cora continues to be in a great deal of pain and is really getting weary. I don’t know how the Lord keeps her going but we’re still looking to the Lord for His promised salvation. Our continual prayer is for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done ON EARTH, just as it is in heaven. In spite of her pain and weakness she has to spend most of her day keeping herself awake (sleeping ruins her circulation). And visiting is very limited since anything that causes her emotional stimulation results in a lot of pain. It is really a very restricted way to live and I know she would very much appreciate your prayers for this waiting time to end. I am keeping busy with computer work for both Wycliffe Bible Translators and Wycliffe Associates as well as a couple of other organizations that we have been associated with over the years. I am very thankful to Lord has had us in a place where I can care for Cora and still make some contribution to missions. Although it is very hard to watch Cora suffer so much, the Lord has greatly helped me to accept the fact that my primary role is caretaker and computer work is secondary. We just passed 30 years of marriage in January and I can honestly say I have no regrets about the choice I made for a wife. She has truly been God’s greatest gift to me after salvation. The latest word on our housing situation is that the apartments have been sold with closing expected about the end of August. At that time our rent will increase about $150/month for the next 12 months. After that we will be required to move since the apartments will be converted to condominiums. We would really appreciate your prayers about this situation. One very special blessing the Lord has sent our way recently is in the way of a job for Jenny. She was really hoping to be able to work either in music or with animals, and she now has a job accompanying voice students during their lessons and recitals and the choir during one practice session at Vanguard University (a Christian college located by our church). She only works about six hours a week but it gives her spending money and keeps her close to home. We are all very grateful for that job. Once again, thank you so much for holding us up before the Lord. Please keep praying for Cora’s quick release. We love you and enjoy hearing from you. God bless you.
