I am writing our letter early this month because I want you to know about Cora’s current condition so you can be praying with us. I have been sending updates to all the people that receive our letters via e-mail but have not had the time to write a letter until now. Let me recap what has been happening. Over the past few weeks Cora’s stomach had become increasingly upset so that the amount she was eating decreased and there were fewer foods she could tolerate. She also had her right hip moving in the joint, which was causing her more and more pain. About two weeks ago her stomach got so bad with acid reflux that we tried moving her on to Jenny’s bed where we could elevate her head and back. But we couldn’t get her comfortable and it didn’t seem to help the hip or acid reflux condition. Next we got a hospital bed from hospice and she tried that for a couple of days, but again she could not get comfortable and the conditions did not improve so we took her back to her water bed. At that point she was eating almost nothing and was in constant agony, so she decided to use a pain patch to make her condition tolerable while hospice tried to find medicine to help with the acid that kept backing up into her throat and mouth. But the pain patch made her very sick so we had to remove that and hospice has been unable to find any medication that helps with the acid. So here is where we are: Cora has not eaten since Nov. 27th and the acid is causing extreme burning in her throat and mouth so she feels like she has a very bad sore throat and canker sores in her mouth. The acid has also burned all the enamel off her teeth and the gold from her crowns. Then on Nov 30th she had a bowel movement which was completely black indicating internal bleeding. She is now taking some morphine by mouth but is very uncomfortable all the time. She is also dreading what might be ahead. Therefore we would ask you to pray for the Lord to be merciful and deliver her quickly from this condition. We still believe the form of His deliverance will be healing, but if not we would certainly rather see her taken home than remain here in this condition. But above all these things, please pray for the Lord’s will to be done because we know His plan is best. Thank you so much for your faithfulness in standing with us and encouraging us, for special notes and gifts. We could have never made this journey without you and truly believe He has a reward for everyone that has stood with us over the years. We’re trusting we will be able to send you a letter telling of the Lord’s deliverance real soon. May the Lord bless and keep each one of you in the palm of His mighty Hand.
