We're sorry that we missed getting out a letter last month but there was a lot happening regarding Cora's healing (which I will tell about below) and we never had time to write. But we are very thankful for you and the many ways in which you have blessed us. We will be forever grateful for your support and encouragement as we pass through this storm. We continue to see 2 Cor. 1:11 fulfilled in greater ways in our lives through you. "He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. As a result, many will give thanks to God because so many people's prayers for our safety have been answered." (New Living Translation)

This past weekend the Lord led two women, Bobbie and Rita, to fly down from San Jose to pray for Cora. We had never met Rita and hadn't seen Bobbie since 1981 when we moved from San Jose to Southern California. In 1981 God had told Bobbie that He "would heal Cora as she lay there greviously ill" but she never know what it meant until she got our picture newsletter last Christmans and saw Cora in bed. Since then she has really been praying for her healing. While we haven't yet seen the healing, we were greatly encouraged that the time is at hand. The following is a quick synopsis of the last few days.

Friday night: Six of us gathered in the living room of our apartment to pray while Cora rested in the bedroom. We got a real sense of the work being done; that we were to begin praising Him for the healing that is coming. We're just waiting to see it fulfilled on earth. Cora was real nervous but we prayed and she was able to go to sleep and sleep well.

Saturday morning: Bobbie and Rita came to pray with Cora. The Lord gave Rita Habakkuk 2:3 (vision is for an appointed time; though it linger it will not be delayed) that morning for their time here. They anointed Cora, Jenny and me with oil the elders of their church had prayed over. In prayer Bobbie mentioned that Jesus' first miracle was at a wedding and asked that Cora be able to go to David's wedding. Cora immediately spoke that Jesus first said it was not His time but then commenced to perform the miracle at His mother's request. We're His family so we asked for the healing before the wedding. Then they put an anointed prayer scarf on Cora. We became silent as there was a great sense of holiness and God's presence. During that time Cora saw Jesus stand up and throw a cloth over us. She asked Him what it was and He said the mantle of the spirit and power of Elijah. It was placed on all of us. Cora cried out, "Where is the Lord God of Elijah" (2 Kings 2:14) and had a sense God would pass before us in the sea of distress and affliction and cause the waters to part (Zech. 10:11). Then we covered each of us with the anointed scarf symbolically as the mantle. When it got to me they prayed against lies I had been believing and prophesied that I would have a new anointing. They prayed for a uniting of David and me (knowing nothing of the struggles David and I have had). When we told them about it afterwards but they didn't even know they'd prayed about that. We asked the Lord to encourage Cora and show her signs of her coming healing.

Saturday afternoon: We prayed that Cora would begin envisioning life as a healed person, that God would transform her thinking and remove all fear of any steps the Lord might ask her to take toward healing and that we would begin to see evidences of healing. Throughout the weekend we kept thinking of two of Jesus' miracles: the wedding at Cana and the raising of Lazarus from the dead. We prayed the Lord would show others any part they were to play in this miracle since the accounts of Lazarus (roll away the stone; unwrap him) and the wedding at Cana (do whatever He tells you) required the participation of people. Bobbie heard the Lord saying that Cora had great faith (greater faith have I not found in all Israel).

Saturday night: Cora dreamed she was engulfed by the Lord's fire and that a spirit of wisdom and discernment come on her and enabled her to have great discernment and perform miracles.

Sunday night: Jenny called from church to say that Joe (a man I meet with once a week) gave a testimony that night. He said that after we met for breakfast the previous week and talked about the coming weekend, he was driving to work when suddenly a peace came over him so that he wasn't aware of traffic or other noises and in his mind clearly heard "Cora will be healed"! Then his surroundings became normal again. This was the first time Joe ever heard the Lord in this way and wasn't sure what it was until Pastor Jim preached on hearing God's voice the next Sunday morning and described Joe's experience exactly without knowing about it! This was confirmation to Joe that he had truly heard God. He now fully believes and is praying!

Monday noon: As Cora, Jenny and I were praying at noon the Lord gave Cora a beautiful song that sounded very joyful. She has been unable to worship with strength for years. We asked the Lord to tell us what it meant. Cora then said as she was singing she saw flags waving and Psalm 20 went through her mind. Then we read Ps. 20 in the Living Bible WOW! The first five verses say:

"In your day of trouble, may the Lord be with you! May the God of Jacob keep you from all harm. May He send you aid from his sanctuary in Zion. May He remember with pleasure the gifts you have given Him, your sacrifices and burnt offerings. May He grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans. May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that He has done for you. May He answer all your prayers!"

Monday night: David came to pray with us for Cora on Monday night and entered into prayer much more than usual. He spent the whole evening with us visiting before and after prayer which we know was the Lord keeping us close during this time.

Tuesday morning: Joe shared his experience with Cora first hand, then anointed her with oil and prayed for her healing. Joe was really "touched by her infirmity" as he prayed.

So God continues to work and we're trusting her time will come before the wedding. Thanks for standing with us. May the Lord wonderfully bless you at this holy time of the year. We'll keep you posted.
